• I can export ALL the content from an old WP site, and import it into a new WP site, but I don’t want the static pages – just the blog posts.

    Is that possible?

  • Possible options:
Delete all the pages from the old site before exporting, or edit the export file to delete the pages, or delete the pages after import.

MichaelH – I had thought of that, but was hoping for a plug-in or script a bit less clunky.

If I go the “edit export file route” any tips on how to identify the static pages in the export file? It’s a huge long TXT file. Would the pages be near the beginning, end, or scattered throughout?

Between the <item> </item> tags you will see this for a page <wp:post_type>page</wp:post_type>

Could use phpMyAdmin to easily delete all the post_type = page records in your wp_post database
