Experience with caching (W3 Total Cache)

    Hi out there,

    I’ve added page caching (using the W3 Total Cache plugin) and I’ve noticed that the Game Schedules entries (be it slider, table or widgets) get “sticky” and are not showing the latest information. If I refresh the page, they update OK. Obviously it’s a caching problem – if I’m logged in to the site they update fine because caching is disabled for logged in users.

    I realize this is not really a question about the Game Schedules plugin, but maybe some other user has had similar problems with this combination and could enlighten me…

    So far it seems that it’s only Chrome that’s affected. I read some bug reports about Chrome holding on to the browser cache and not checking if the files have been outdated on the server. I suspect this is what I’m seeing.

    I’ve simply added a message on the pages that display schedules tables or sliders to request the visitor to refresh the page – of course only shown to users using Chrome. A workaround for sure, but I can live with it.

    I’m marking this as resolved for now.
