Existing Location Fields

We currently use the MapPress plugin to geo-code locations that are part of a custom post type. Users fill out a front-end form and the locations they specify are geo-coded and the geo-coded locations then added to a custom field in the database.

Though MapPress is great at locating addresses with google and displaying maps on our posts, it does not currently offer a way to search by location. Does your plugin offer the ability to tie into our existing setup to enable a search by location?

Thinking we could simply tell the locations plugin to look at the existing locations already stored in our database instead of having to copy or re-import the locations into the Locations plugin. Any idea if/how this would work?
