exhibit add image

I have searched the forum but I have this problem with WordPress 1.5.2 and Exhibit 1.1d;
When I try and add a thumbnail to my post it will not appear in the left hand box.
I have installed Exhibit in the past and it has worked fine.
Is there a permission I have not set?
I am on Dreamhost and have PHP set to Apache.
