I am using your plugin for one of the site, and also have wp-super cache installed . However, I have three ads defined for certain ad area on home page… it has to be displayed randomly but not may be due to cache, it display the same ad until caching is cleared.

Any idea how to configure this to be random on each page view?

Enable caching support from AdRotate settings and flush your cache.

Thanks for this, but I don’t see this setting in Ad Rotate Settings Screen. It has only two settings under Miscellaneous, and they are -> Widget alignment and Credits.

Moreover, I think my AdRotate version is also up-to-date.. here is the details.

    Current AdRotate build: 362
    Required AdRotate build: 362
    Current AdRotate database version: 22
    Required AdRotate database version: 22

    Please advise. Thank you.

You can see your actual version in the plugins page in your dashboard. You probably have 3.8.4 or something, which is not the latest version.

I don’t see an update link in admin plugins section? Does this mean I need to update it manually?

I have updated the plugin manually, but it still doesn’t show random ads. Does it need to change some code on template for this to work? Or may be some special configuration required?

I have two active ads assigned to same ad group and ad block. And it display only the one always. Even after caching is cleared manually. I’m using super cache.

    Pls advise.

If you use the free version you will get updates through your dashboard.

If you have AdRotate Pro there obviously is no automated updates as the plugin isn’t allowed into the repositories. AdRotate Pro does check for new version regularly. But the actual installation is manual. Check out this page for instructions: http://www.adrotateplugin.com/support/knowledgebase/upgrade-adrotate-pro-to-a-newer-version/

Hi, I’m using a free version. And upgraded to the latest free version. But as I said its still not working.

It still doesn’t show random ads. Does it need to change some code on template for this to work? Or may be some special configuration required? I have two active ads assigned to same ad group and ad block. And it display only the one always. Even after caching is cleared manually.

    What could be wrong here?

I just noticed you use WP Super Cache.
That plugin broke support in their last update.

Switch to W3 Total Cache to keep using caching in combination with AdRotate or upgrade your hosting so you don’t need caching anymore.

Unfortunately we were earlier using W3Total Cache but it doesn’t worked well in our case. So we changed to WP Super Cache which seems to work perfectly in our case.

Can you please inform me the last version of WP Super Cache which worked with your plugin?

Support for Super Cache will be removed in the next version of AdRotate because it no longer works with current versions of Super Cache.

Any version of Super Cache older than 1.4 should work. But that version is vulnerable to some XSS hacks so I would not advise to use that.

Hi, thank you for your quick response.

I see a latest version of WP Super Cache is 1.3.2
Can you please verify? And suggest.

    Awaiting your response.

1.4 will be out soon, check their website.

Hi, thank you for your response.

But I’m using 1.3.2 that should work or not? Pls help.

I am not involved in development of that plugin.
If it doesn’t work now, nothing changes. Upgrade your hosting package to something decent so you don’t need hosting or use another caching plugin. That is for you to decide.

For the time being W3 Total Cache is still compatible so you could use that…

Dear Arman, thank you for support. I will see if I can use W3TC as a replacement or may take other alternative.

Can you point our how you added support for random ads rotating? Is it by excluding your part of code? Or you’re replacing it with some kind of js that would fetch ads after page has loaded?

I would like to understand how it work?

Once again, thank you for your excellent support.
