[resolved] Excess Code When Hovering... (12 posts)

    I run two different sites...

    http://www.rpsoapworks.com

    &

    http://wildrose.rpgraphics.net

I recently upgraded both sites to 2.1. My personal site...everything is fine, so far! My review site (soapworks) is a different story.

After I've uploaded a picture, if I click on the edit bit, where the title is, there's always some extra code (<!--enpte-->) that gets added to the beginning and the end of the title. Even if I delete it out of the box, it still shows up when the picture's inserted into my entry. So whenever you hover over the picture, the text comes up as <!--enpte-->PICTURE NAME HERE<!--enpte--> The same thing also happens on the titles of the entries. In fact, since upgrading, ALL the entry titles have this added code!

Granted, it's just a cosmetic thing...but it's annoying the hell out of me...and it's not happening at my personal site!

The only time that it doesn't seem to happen is when I'm posting pics via Flickr, it would seem...

Hmmm. There were some posts on here the last couple of weeks about this. You'll need to search for "enpte" probably.

Believe me, I've been searching to try and figure this out for like the last two weeks!

This is what I get for being overly picky! ;)

Then again, there's anal.... and there's ANAL....

Right? :o) Actually, as a self-proclaimed pixel whore, that would bug me, too. What plugins are you using? What's stopping you from upgrading to the latest stable version?

    anal with lowercase. ;)

My host's version of Fantastico hasn't picked up the latest version of WP yet...I've got to harass him about that! Plugin-wise, I've got adhesive, akismet, spell check, and edit in place on the review site. I'm almost starting to wonder if the edit in place plugin isn't what's causing the problem...

Hmmm. Adhesive has had a really bad rep too, unless you're using the "rework" that's been on here lately (and since search just decided to misbehave, I can't find a link, sorry *sigh*)

Bingo. Problem solved. It was the edit in place plugin that was mangling things. I had the plugin installed since one of the themes I was using once didn't have an "edit" link on the entries. D'oh!

Try 'em one at a time and see. You may have to edit a post each time you turn off a plugin. Also, it may not be just one. Some plugins just don't play nice together.

    Edit: Awesome!

Oh good! So glad you found it! Now, you should probably report to the plugin dev's forum (that would be Viper007Bond I think) so he knows there's a problem....

Thanks for your help, guys. I sometimes need a little push to get my brain working properly if I haven't had enough caffeine! :)
