   Instead of a listing of excerpts of the main site I would like to get the excerpts of the child blogs on the index of my main site.
   Is this possible please?

   The installation process seemed all right (I had to turn off all plugins first), I got a message "settings updated" in the admin. But now I don't see any change. Do I have to do something more?
   Or maybe I miss some code somewhere because it is an own theme.

   [SOLVED]It works plus minus with still some error message, but most of my posts are imported now, since I also activated the wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags plugin in each of the subdomains.

   Check out this great plugin: Network Latest Posts

   It doesn't duplicate content on the network.

   Does it replace the former plugin? If I want to keep this last one do I have to remove it?

   Yes, you can use Network Latest Posts (NLP) to replace WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages.

   Also see NLP author's site.

   If the plugin you are currently using is working fine, there's no reason to switch.
