   Hi there,

   I am using Deadline theme and I am trying to display excerpts in the "recent posts" and "featured posts" widgets that you can see in the home page (not in the sidebar)

   I am not sure this can be done, there might be a lot of programming involved. I have tried to use <?php the_excerpt (); ?> but it's not working

   to be fair the template doesn't use the_excerpt but the_content (). I have tried with that one but nothing happens

   this is the theme http://themeforest.net/item/deadline-premium-wordpress-news-magazine-theme/117203 there is an option you can tick to display thumbnails but nothing about excerpts and it's a shame.

   for problems with commercial themes, please contact the theme seller for support.

   this forum cannot help with commercial themes, as there is no free access to all the theme files.
