    I just installed your mPress Custom plugin (updated 01/13). The "Continue reading" for the excerpt is missing. I tried the work around code by Micah Wood described but no luck. Is there something else I need to add? If so, what file and where do I put it? I see in your response that you were going to update your plugin which I assume is in the newest release now?

    @jaydokie,

    The latest release, which is version 0.2, does contain the code for the 'continue reading' link. Let's start with a few troubleshooting steps:

    First, go to 'Reading' under 'Settings' in the WordPress admin menu and make sure you are using the 'Full text' option for your feeds. The plugin won't do anything if you haven't set this option correctly.

    Second, make sure that the post you are wanting the 'continue reading' link to show for has a <!-- more --> tag in the content.

    Third, make sure you are looking at the post in an RSS feed reader such as Google Reader, as the plugin only takes effect in the RSS feed.

    If you are still having trouble, then provide a link to the post in question and I can take a look.

    One is correct.
    two is that <!More> and do I have to manually insert it into the post which create using "Press This" tool in wordpress.
    Three I don't use an RSS feeder but rather use RSSjb (RSS just better plugin) to create links to article names which I then click on to read the article to see if I want to post it to my Front Page.

    If you look at http://roundhousetalk.com, you can see that I post excerpts and images with title being linked to the my post page for the article with another link that starts off "Via" and the URL to go to the actual article.

    What I did have and still want is instead of stopping at the allowed except word length, to have the words or similar "Continue reading here..." that links to the article URL or at least to my internal post page with the original article link starting off "Via" URL.

    @jaydokie,

    So yes, the <!-- more --> tag must be manually inserted where you want the 'continue readling' link to be applied. By default, this link will point to the full article on your site.

    It sounds like you have a special use case where you need the 'continue reading' link to point to the original external URL of the article. My plugin can do what you want, but first you would have to know how to fetch the external URL via the code.

    There is a filter in my plugin that, assuming you know how to fetch this data in the code, can be easily altered to allow you to customize your 'continue reading' link.

    If you click on the title on http://roundhousetalk.com for a post, it takes you to my internal post. Under my internal post, there is an external link which starts off "Via...." which when clicked on takes you to the original article at an external site. The "Via...." is created automatically when I highlight an excerpt length of the original external article from the wordpress "Press This" tool.

    I understand what you are trying to do, but I'm not familiar with the code behind the plugin you are using, so I'm afraid I can't be much help.
