thesmI'm trying to create a site which features posts with teasers and full size images on the front page of the site. The posts are reports - so posts fuature an image of the front cover of the report plus the full executive summary.
I have also created a reports archive page using a customised template. So far I have managed this, and have all posts filed in the category 'reports' appearing on the custmised page - but they look just like the posts on the front page do (full size image and full executive summary - i.e. proper 'posts').
The client has thrown me a curve-ball. She wants the reports archive page to feature one full length post, and then immediately underneath it a 'gallery' type layout where older reports are arranged in blocks with a thumbnail image and a tiny extract of text rather than the full detail.
I am guessing I need to call thumbnails and use the excerpt feature to achieve this. But how on earth do I do this within the context of the wordpress loop to get the page to display both type of posts on one customised template page?
Been searching and trying things in the codex and not managing. Some suggestions and pointers to the right places in the codex would be hugely appreciated.
