• I did a search for the Excerpt Reloaded plugin, but I’m still not sure what it does, or if it does what I need.

Here’s what I need. Some friends want to use my feed to run my posts on their blog. I don’t want it to be the full post. And I don’t want the 120 word excerpt either.

What I want is for it to show everything (with full formatting) above the <!–more–> tag. Unless I haven’t used the more tag (because the post is too short), in which I case I do want it to show the full post.

Does Excerpt Reloaded do this? If so, how? If not, what does?

Oh, I already did. I just don’t get it.

    Anyone?

Chutney, I think the_excerpt_reloaded plugin only works to format your post, not your post’s feed.

To make your feed a summary rather than a full post, you need to set the Dashboard->Options->Reading->Syndication Feeds setting to “summary.” That turns the RSS feed into an excerpt.

Unfortunately, when I do it, it strips all HTML formatting from the summary. If I use the “full text” setting, I get the HTML, but not with the summary. I came here hoping to learn how to retain HTML formatting
