Hello - New to WordPress, designer not coder, need help.
Recently purchased a pretty nice template to build new site, portfolio and blog from, things going well except: The excerpt shows up at the top on the inside the every post.
If you don't mind check out the Post Link and read the first two short paragraphs it explains everything. You can click through to the home page and see how it shows up in the listing as well:

I have read the codex, searched the forum, tried to work around it, spent about 7 hours trying to figure it out. I'm bushed please help.
Hi Adam
Two things:
1) Excerpts for your theme - The excerpts for your theme are meant to display on the home page by the thumbnail image. But, it sounds like there may be some issues around the excerpts also appearing on the post when users aren't expecting them to show. On the discussion board for your theme, the theme author says:
Read the section in the documentation under Custom Fields for the image excerpts – it’s all documented in the instructions.
2) To get the meta you are looking for, you might try an SEO plugin like All in One SEO.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hey Thanks Dene,
I had overlooked that there was a forum on the Themeforest page for that theme. That was helpful. Two other people had made posts that were exactly what i was wanting to know, unfortunately they were never addressed.
Something triggered though and I realized that if you want an image thumb on your front page your going to have to write your post around the allocated space. Or do with out it on the front page and insert an image into the post separately.
The way it is programmed the thumb image and the excerpt are built in the same rectangle. The actual blog post will not start any higher than above below the thumb image. Rats! So the resolve without rewriting code is to cut the beginning of the post to exactly the right length and paste it into the excerpt box. Not what i wanted but guess it will allow me to sharpen my wordsmithing skills.
Thanks again for pointing me to the discussion board. I'll take up my quandary with the author. Have a great day.
