Excerpt links to full post, but displayed on child of a specific parent page?

    Hi all –

    Bit tricky to explain, so please bear with me.

    When the more link or heading of an excerpt is clicked on (from a ‘latest news’ list of excerpts on my homepage, taken my news category), I would like that news item to open in full on a child page of a specific parent on my site to ensure my nav highlighting works and shows the user that they are in the ‘news’ section.

    i.e the news item should be displayed within the ‘news’ section of my site, even though the link to is was on the homepage. Currently it’s displayed on single.php which isn’t related to any section of my site and therefore breaks the nav highlighting.

    Does that make sense?

    Any idea how to achieve this? I’m stuck!
