I'm running WordPress multisite and this morning I noticed I'm missing the excerpt field in the admin area on a handful of sites. I checked the "screen options" as this is usually the culprit for this kind of thing and "excerpt" doesn't appear there as one of the options I can check.
Anybody else running into this? I'm confident the excerpt fields were there last week.

On further inspection this seems to be related to the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. Disabling that plugin brings my excerpt field back. Re-enable the ACF plugin and they go away again.
It looks like somehow the excerpt option got unchecked on some of my custom field groups. There was an ACF update this morning. Perhaps it happened then.

The same is happening to us. We're also using ACF and after updating it excerpt field dissapeared. Have you tried downgrading it to its previous version?

I've solved it. There's a new feature in the last version of ACF:
- [Added] Add Excerpt to the field group "show on page" options
By default, Excerpt is unchecked, just check it and will appear.

Hello, i didn't get excerpt field in screen options for twenty twelve theme.
Please any one kindly help me!!!
Edit any published Post, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check "Excerpt". Do the same on any published Page.

I get excerpt filed only in edit posts alone not edit page.
Then you just need to follow the instruction above on any existing Edit Page.

not even single edit page i didn't that excerpt field!! any options or any plugin to get the excerpt field.
No - it is in WordPress by default. Edit any Page, click Screen Options and let us know what boxes you see and what boxes are checked/unchecked.
