I awoke this morning to discover visitors to my site were getting the following error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3840 bytes) in /home/peoriapu/public_html/blogpeoria/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 541

    My site is http://peoriapundit.com/blogpeoria

I am not running widgets, and I don;t even have the plugin installed on my blog. I'm using WP 2.2.2.

I am using a widget read theme, however.

    Indeed it did.

I simply added this line to the bottom of my .htaccess file:

    php_value memory_limit 24M

    Works like a charm now.

    Gracias.
