Either this is a bug or I have to have something changed on my server. I run my site on my own VPS server. I was fine using WordPress 2.8, but I upgraded to 2.9 after it came out to see what all was new and such on my own site. However now I am running into a problem where alot of things are showing memory size errors to include plugins, just a few of the errors showing in admin are below. Plugins can be installed still but I have to do it via FTP for each one, the site works fine I just cannot automatically install new plugins from admin and have these errors showing in the backend. Sometimes it will work but most of the time they don’t. Any assistance appreciated.

    Dashboard – Plugins:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/webwzrd/public_html/wp-includes/class-simplepie.php on line 14907

I have a few other sites I upgraded to 2.9 also which are encountering the same issue above so its not just my site, but they are all on the same server.

Upgraded to 2.9.1 today thinking it might resolve, still did not resolve. Also on each upgrade I have to deactivate all my plugins in order for the upgrade to take place.

I ended up resolving this myself after peeking around, it can be fixed by increasing your memory in wp-settings.php from 32MB to 64MB
