I looked at the previous post and found this worked for me if anyone else needs it:
FTP to your wordpress installation, and go to wp-content/plugins/ajax-event-calendar/js/jquery.simplemodal.1.4.3.min.js.
Open that file, change its contents to the ones from http://www.benkaeding.com/jquery.simplemodal.js, save it, and then ftp it over to the live site in the same folder/file location.

Tried this fix with 3.71 but it doesn’t make any difference:
Admin – all seems OK
Calendar in Front end – doesn’t display but categories do
Events in Front end – display in sidebar but don’t expand
My calendar front end also is showing up blank… admin area functions great… I tried replacing the simplemodal.js … no luck there. Anyone else have any luck? Thanks
I am experiencing the same problem, only when logged in though. I just found out that if you disable the admin bar from showing on your site, the calendar is back on front-end for the logged in users as well.
