I have been using Events Manager for approx.6mths now. The last month I have had problems with editing existing Events. If I change anything, it sets it self to publish as “Private”, not “Public”, as I would like to keep it. If I change it back to “Public” and hit “Update”, it automatically sets itself back to Private.

Hence, in order to actually edit something in an Event, I need to copy all the information in the event (No, I can’t duplicate it and edit – then the same thing happens) and make a new one, with all the information changed that I wanted to change. Problem is – this is both a very time consuming process, and it doesn’t help people who already booked tickets to the event.

I never had problems with this before last month, so there’s obviously something wrong with the plugin… But HOW DO I FIX it? I really like Events Manager, and would like to keep using it.

  • This sounds like it could be a problem with another plugin (or some custom code) that’s not allowing you to publish events.

    Some things to check:

    * Does the user role for your account have permission to publish events?

    * Are you running a plugin that deals with user capabilities or roles? Have you tried modifying the settings or deactivating it?

    * Are the settings correct under Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities? The publish_events option should be checked for the user role of your account.

If none of the above works, try deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default WordPress theme.
