   I have tried unstalling and reinstalling this plugin and wordpress 2.3.2. The calendar does not show anywhere and it says in the instructions select category for events under Dashboard and there is nothing there to change. Can anyone help me please?

   It sounds like I am having a similar problem with WordPress 2.3.2. There is NO section under dashboard for creating and editing events. I am not getting any type of error messages when the software is activated? I would be interested in any possible solutions.

   I discovered my problem by accident. When I went to Presentation and then to widgets then sidebar arrangement I found the widget under available widgets and dragged it into the side bar. It works :)

   To get the sub menu under the dashboard menu item you need to add <?php wp_footer(); ?> into your Footer file under the presentation and theme editor sub menu. This worked for me - and this is what is in the read me file.

   I have <?php wp_footer(); ?> in my footer file. The widget shows up, but there's nothing appearing on the dashboard for me to add events to the calendar. I'm using WP 2.3.2

   I had the same "dashboard problem". You need to have the event calendar's language files of the same language your WP version is.

   How do I make sure that the event calendar's language files are in the same language as WP?

   Just like Looking4WD said, once I added the widget and only then did the sub-menu show on the dashboard page

   Hello,
   i installed the Event Calendar on my WP Version 2.3.3. but nothing to see on my dashboard. The WordPress Install is in german. I had placed the Widget Event Calendar in Sidebar1. I can see the Headline, but can't add Events...

   maybe the problem is the language file. but where can i change the language for Event Calendar?

    Same Problem. Events Header comes up, but nothing on dashboard...

    I'm using 2.3.3 and I have the same quirk with the Dashboard menu not showing until I add the widget to the sidebar..
