I notice that if I create an event and check the Show Google Maps checkboxes, my event URL now redirects to the home page. I don't understand why this would be. I'd like to use the map functionality, too, so this is a big bummer. Any ideas?

Hmm. I figured it out. Seems that for some reason it has a conflict with the Redirection Plugin. When I deactivate it, the page works fine. Even if I don't have any redirections set up, it doesn't work. Any thoughts on why? I wanted to use the Redirectino Plugin because my calendar appears a few levels into the site and The Events Calendar requires you to have the event calendar at /events/ (or something at that level). I had a redirection from /news-events/events-calendar/ pointing to /events.

Glad to hear you were able to get this sorted, relish1227. We have heard of a few conflicts with that Redirection plugin in the past...while we aren't sure what is causing it we are hoping some of the changes we're making for 3.0 (which is a fairly substantial overhaul to be released early next year) will resolve that.
In the interim, there sadly isn't much we can offer up. I would suggest bringing this up to that plugin's dev as well (we're always happy to work with other devs/themers to find a solution that works for everyone) just in case he has suggestions.
