Event Organiser - Event Page Full Calendar (7 posts)

    Please bear with me, I'm new am I'm really not sure what else to do or try. I have Event Organiser 1.4.1 installed and I'm trying to add a full calendar to my event page. I thought I could add the shortcode to my event page, but when I publish it displays the following:
    [eo_fullcalendar headerLeft='prev,next today' headerCenter='title' headerRight='month,agendaWeek']

    Here's the HTML I have on my event page (I tried 2 examples I found on the plugin site http://www.harriswebsolutions.co.uk/event-organiser/):
    <SPAN class=pun>[</SPAN><SPAN class=pln>eo_fullcalendar headerLeft</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>=</SPAN><SPAN class=str>'prev,next today'</SPAN><SPAN class=pln> headerCenter</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>=</SPAN><SPAN class=str>'title'</SPAN><SPAN class=pln> headerRight</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>=</SPAN><SPAN class=str>'month,agendaWeek'</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>]</SPAN>

    <SPAN class=pun>[</SPAN><SPAN class=pln>eo_fullcalendar att1</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>=</SPAN><SPAN class=str>"val1"</SPAN><SPAN class=pln> att2</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>=</SPAN><SPAN class=str>"val2"</SPAN><SPAN class=pun>]</SPAN>

    I've just tried that shortcode and it works fine for me. What appears instead of the calendar? The shortcode itself - or the HTML you've posted. If you could link to your site then it might be easier to determine the problem.

    Thanks Stephen! Yes, it is the shortcode that is displaying. Here is a direct link to my site's event page:

    mmm... well the shortcode is not being parsed at all (which isn't a bug with the plug-in) - and the fact that you get the above HTML suggests that another plug-in/theme is doing something to the shortcode. That's is to say, if the shortcode wasn't being parsed by the plug-in you would expect to see the shortcode, but not have all the span mark-up.

    I suggest disabling each of you plug-ins in turn, and then finally switching to TwentyEleven to determine which one is causing the problem. At a guess it might be some sort of syntax highlighter.

    I got it to work this morning! The problem was that I had the wrong shortcode copied to my page. Instead of just [eo_fullcalendar] I had all of this [eo_fullcalendar headerLeft='prev,next today' headerCenter='title' headerRight='month,agendaWeek']

    Thank you for your assistance Stephen!

    That's odd - because [eo_fullcalendar headerLeft='prev,next today' headerCenter='title' headerRight='month,agendaWeek'] should work as a shortcode. They are the shortcode attributes (or options).

    In fact it *does work* on a test install - so I suspect a plug-in/theme isn't behaving itself...

    Good to know! I tried systematically deactivating and testing the plugins I had on the site (there were only 4-5), but got the same results. I then switched over to the Twenty Eleven theme, but still go the same results. I decided I might have somehow corrupted the Event Organiser plugin, so I went back to the plugin site and found the different example of the shortcode [eo_fullcalendar] at that point I figured I'd give it a try and it worked.
