  • I tried this one and seems to be working fine on my test sites; can I know what EM version are you using or have you tried to temporarily:(to narrow down the problem)

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

Also, Is this using multisite, buddypress or normal installation?

I think this was a bug we fixed a while ago, if you’re not on the latest update, try that first. You may need to resave your recurring events template though.

Thanks for both of your replies.

To answer your questions, this is multisite + buddypress. I am running the latest versions of everything. And I’ve just updated to EM 5.2.9. (+ EM Pro 2.2.3.)

***By the way, this is a separate problem, on updating to 5.2.9. I’ve lost my main navigation menu (which displays in my header). Updating to 5.2.9. was the first change I made, and I noticed the problem straight away – before deactivating any plugins and changing my theme. The menu reappears if I switch to the default wordpress buddypress template.***

Re original ‘No Categories’ problem, actions taken to diagnose:

    1. All plugins deactivated, apart from:

    Buddypress 1.6.1
    Events Manager 5.2.9
    EM Pro 2.2.3

    2. Template switched to BuddyPress default.
    3. Checked listing – still showing ‘No Categories’
    4. Resaved listing, ensuring relevant category was ‘ticked’.
    5. Checked listing again, still showing ‘No Categories’.

(I’ve now reverted to the DynamiX template I was using.)

Do you have any other ideas about what could be causing the problem?

    Thanks,

    Mat

Update – (rather than just re-editing old listings) I’ve created a brand new series of recurring test events, still with plugins deactivated. Problem still exists with these listings as well.

I don’t know what changed your nav menu, but I can’t think of anything we’d do to affect this.

Regarding categories, what are your MS settings, i.e. is global events turned on?

    Hi Marcus,

    – I notice that someone else (JMichiels) has now also posted about their menu disappearing after upgrading to 5.2.9.

    – Enable global tables mode was set to ‘Yes’

Luckily, there are no other blogs yet on my site, so I can switch between settings without causing any problems.

I set ‘enable global tables’ to ‘no’. & did some testing.

Recurring events series still showed ‘No categories’. – so, I re-saved the series. After doing this the categories showed correctly.

I’ve switched back to ‘enable global tables’ ‘yes’. The events series still display the categories properly.

    Thanks,

    Mat
