Event / Calendar Plugin Recommendation

I need a recommendation please for a calendar / event plugin for the site I’m developing for my village. The main requirement is to be able to link directly from the source event entry to a page within the site which has additional information. I’ve experimented with a number of calendar plugins but they all seem to employ the additional step of linking from the event entry to a longer description pop-up, and with some plugins you can then link from the pop-up to another location. I’d like the option to by-pass the second step so you click on the source entry in the calendar or event list and go straight to a linked page.
