hey there. I recently installed the Event Calendar 3 & King Calendar plugins to my blog. I'd like to know how I could a) create a "calendar" page where only calendar events are displayed and b) know how to stop an event post from showing up in the main post section, but still appear in the calendar and "upcoming events" sections on the sidebar.

Thanks so much for the help...

I'm about to do the same thing (like today). I use the filosofo home page control plugin... then I will make my own page template for my "schedule" page, and edit that to query my "events" category.

If you aren't already, I'd suggest you get a bit familiar with template tags and the loop, and learn to disect what is happening on page.php. From there you'd be in a good position to do what you're talking about.

I can as I do it. I would reccomend in the meantime you check out the filosofo plugin: http://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/home-page-control

    Yay, I did it.

See you can get a category with category-X, but I didnt want it to link that way. I wanted the beautiful link thing.

So I made a page (in the WP admin), and a custom page template (the filosofo way) that would query just one category (from the code). I did this by changing the "if" statement (copied from the page.php code).

Change <?php if (have_posts()) : while... etc etc
to <?php if (query_posts("cat=x")) : while... etc etc

"x" is the number of the category you want displayed, which you can find in manage>categories in the admin.

You can see how it worked out at http://www.yanksinkilts.com

Lemme know if you have any questions.

i don't seem to have page.php in my template. Whoever made it must have left it out, though I don't know why they would. Anyway, could I email you for some more help?
