   Any thoughts on what are the "essential WP plugins." I am pretty new at this and am a bit overwhelmed at the number of options available. I would like to start by gaining the wisdom of the sages.

   and ftr, one person's essential plugin is garbage to someone else. what plugins you ultimately use ought to depend on what you want to do with your blog. Theyre plugins, not collectibles.
