[resolved] [closed] Eshop not sending me an email (29 posts)

    Hello,

    Iam using eshop plugin...

    Im facing one problem... Whenever anyone makes any purchase, I am getting an email from wordpress as 'New User Registered', BUT iam not getting any email from eshop as: 'what product he bought' , 'how many orders' etc....

    As far as I knew I did everything correct, not sure why not getting any email from eshop...

    Can anyone tell me what went wrong..?

    Hey, thanks for your quick reply!

    Itseems that link mostly asked about 'Test Mode' (paypal sandbox) , BUT mine is 'Live Mode'..

    and I also tried deactivated all plugins, switched to twnty eleevn theme, BUT still not getting any email for me after having purchase..

    what you think mainly the prob caused for it...? (DO we need to use only DOmain email ids, not gmails? )

    You need to ask your hosts about this. some hosts do filter out everything but domain-based email at the SMTP server. There's nothing the plugin can do about this.

    you mean hosting service provider issue for this..? I use Hostgator..

    This is the conversation between me and HG:

    HG Support: our SMTP only works for domain names hosted with us.

    I asked: then what about gmails?

    HG Support: You would have to set up Google MX records, or Google apps, to route these particular addresses. However our SMTP still only works for the domain names being hosted. With google apps it forwards the e-mail onto google servers, however the server still only processes mail that has an existing domain on a hosting account on the server.

    I asked: so, i canniot receive an email if I keep gmail id in that eshop plugin..?

    HG Support: Correct, I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

    I asked: so, no solution for this kinda prob?

    HG Support: I can try to assist, what more can you tell me about this plug-in. How does it work?

    You need to follow your hosts' advice.

    lol.. He just saying 'SMTP only works for domain names hosted with us'

    so, I shud keep ONLY domain email ids in 'eShop From email address' and 'Available business email addresses', Right?

    In merchant Gateways, atleast can I keep gmail ID's for 'Main account Email address' and 'Secondary Email address'

    what you suggest?

    Do not use gmail addresses in eShop.

    Hey,

    After seeing your link in ur 1st post above, i got a thought to test it in 'Test Mode'...

    When Iam trying to create seller and buyer email IDs in 'developer.paypal.com' , i clicked 'preconfigured', there i can able to enter only gmail id (no option to enter any domain email id..)

    then how could I test it..? (or am i doing anything wrong..?)

    PayPal sandbox is a completely different scenario. On your live shop, you need to avoid using Gmail accounts in your eShop ssetup. This is not something that the plugin is imposing. It's being imposed by your hosts.

    hi,

    YES, i have changed to all domain email ids only now!

    BUT my query is: how do I test 'Live Mode'? thats why iam thinking to test thrygh 'Test Mode', to ensure myself everything correct..

    so, how do I test thrugh Paypal sandbox..?

    Do you want to test whilst Live or via PayPal sandbox?

    How to test 'Live'? All I need is: I should be able to test that my Live settings are correct... I mean I shud get emails from a customer who purchases my product, so how to test this kinda?

    Make a test purchase using the Cash gateway.

    Actually i stay in India... so I cannot test with paypal.. I mean we cannot make payments from Indian paypal acct to another Indian paypal acct..

    So any other alternative, you can suggest me...?

    It looks like eShop may not be suitable for you. I would suggest finding another solution.

    wow! Thats the soltuion for me..? lol..

    Pls do not say like that.. I really liked eshop plugin.. Cant I go thrugh 'paypal sandbox' technique for testing..

    pls suggest me bro/sis making me to achive testing on this.. Most importantly, i really spent lot of time to understand your plugin and use it for me.. all the effort I invested just goes into vain if I switch to some other else plugin..

    We've already provided you with a link to a topic on the eShop forum that explains how to set up emails using PayPal sandbox. We've also explained that, due to your hosts' SMTP policy, you cannot use Gmail addresses on your Live eShop site. There's absolutely nothing else we can help you with.

    Agreed! BUT iam bit stuck at paypal sandbox..

    pls suggest me.. I really spent lot time in eshop, i really cant go for other ecommerce plugin as I already spent lot time on this.. Iam almost at the end... Little push from behind helps me to achive mine.. and thnx a lot for trying to help me out....

    hi,

    sorry i tried bit late due to lack of time.. pleas read my UPDATE BELOW: (Only prob i have: not getting product details email that are entered by a customer..)

    when not logged into admin, after adding items into cart at this link: http://mydomainname.com/shopping-cart/checkout/ , at the bottom, i can able to see a link having "« Edit Details or Continue Shopping " (there is no "proceed to checkout" button ), after when I logged into admin and when i just refreshed the same link, i found ' "proceed to checkout" button)

    BUT in this link: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/playing-in-paypals-sandbox-2880 , it said: In the test conductor window, log into your PayPal Sandbox account. In the test subject window, browse on over to your e-commerce site; and make sure that you are not logged in as the administrator.

    I just got an email having subject to admins_1354090444_biz@mydomain.com "Testing: Paypal IPN - Completed Payment Ref:TEST-66A85321K2052494V"

    I given same email id (customer@mydomain.com ) for 'eShop From email address' and 'Available business email addresses' BUT iam not getting an email having product details that are entered by the customer.. why Iam not getting any product details entered by a customer? iam really frustrated.. (not understanding what to do.. )

    This time I didnt used any gmail or yahoo.. i just used created domain name email ids in paypal and sandbox and also in eshop as well!

    pls someone help on this..

    hi, i emailed u asking for $5... (iam sory i really have no money.. i will be vm thankful to you if you solve me this.. ) This is the only issue I have since 1 week (hitting my head to a wall )

    All we can suggest is that you try another ecommerce plugin. Perhaps eShop is not suitable for you.
