   Hello everyone, I have been pulling my hair out for 3 weeks trying to get eshop to work. Heres my problem, I have downloadable content on my site, I sell website templates and themes for wordpress and a few other platforms, I have a paypal standard account tied into eshop. so my questions are
   1. do I have to make my thank you page myself? the one that come with eshop doesnt do anything.
   2. do I have to use the ipn and do I have to put urls into paypal for an email to be sent to my customer with the download link?
   3 why does my customer get a blank email when they order from me but I get paid when the transaction completes. the emails i get are valid and working right. ?????
   I have followed every support forum, WP forum and everybit of info I can get my hands on regarding this but everything is so cryptic, no one has ever said , ok just put return page url in pay pal, you dont need the ipn , you have to make a retun page, and so on,,,its all confusing information and I sure could use a straight forward answer or 2.

   1. you can add whatever text you want, but ensure the shortcode stays on the page.
   2. ipn is integral for paypal via eShop, and no eShop handles that. (if your email template contains the right information of course.
   3. did you activate the paypal email? and did you put anything into that template?

   you don't need to put anything into paypal's end, eshop should handle most of it without issue.

   Hi Elfin, Thanks for the reply. I will let you log into my account if you wish to see whats going on to get a better understanding...If you like I will email or skype you my info but heres the run down.
   Im not exactly sure what you mean by the paypal email template. Is that something I have to create? I did go to dashboard/setting/eshop and put in my paypal email address into the merchant gateway paypal option. Im not sure about the email situation though, I just cant wrap my head around it. I dont get an email from my site at all, just the paypal payment email. Im just not clear on how to make it work. I do notice that on 3 of the pages on my site that were created by eshop. if i manually type the address to certain pages that were created by eshop say like "transaction results", will only show this short code, the same with the thank you for your order page and the your account page. the short code looks like [shop_show_success] but nothing else appears in the page. not even in the preview mode when editing. I just cant figure this out...sorry for being stupid,lol anyway if you like you can login and see for yourself. Thanks again

   ps could you please elaborate on the """did you activate the paypal email? and did you put anything into that template""". Im not finding that template or option or info im my wp stuff.

   eshop > emails contains the templates, and the default template contains this section for downloads:
   

   --------------- DOWNLOAD DETAILS ---------------
   These are available for download via:
   {DOWNLOADS}

   eShop does not create a page entitled transaction results.

   The thankyou for your order page won't show anything by default, but is a necessary page for eShop to work.

   ok, I think I have the transaction results page from wp e commerce, which I could not get to work either.
   As far as the emails go. I see where you are reffering me and only the top 2 defasult email templates are active, The automatic paypal email templates are blank and nor active. What would I need to put into them if I activate them? I dont understand the use of short code as I am a graphical/template designer and not too much into the coding end.
   I can say that at one time with eshop i did get at least one email from my site after an order, now I dont get any at all,,this is what my default email templates looks like.

   ok I copied the template from the default oneinto my blank paypal template, that didnt work. All of the 1 penny orders I have made are still sitting in pending status as well. The site has not acknowledged that the transaction has completed , but paypal does return me to my thank you for yourn order page.... Payapl did charge my credit card though.

   Well, I gave up on the eshop plugin....i went ahead and bought the 25.00 dollar version. Hopefully it will work better than the free version, lol. Thanks for your help Elfin... Hopefully I wont get caught up in this vicsous circle again and will be able to get on with making some $$moolaas$$

   sounds like you didn't have the correct settings either in eShop or paypal, or even both. It was not clear until that last message that the orders were still pending.

   I don't sell a version, but good luck with whatever one you have bought.

    Hi, I had eshop working fine. Then i updated my wp and my Eshop, and now when people try to get to the download page they get the following,Downloads

    Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/content/n/a/a/naasehvenilmad/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/eshop/eshop-get-custom.php on line 107
    How do I solve this?
