Errors when updating categories.

    WordPress 3.5
    BuddyPress 1.6.2
    Connections 0.7.3.1
    php 5.3.2
    mysql 5.1.46

    Whenever I try to update an existing category (even if there are not entries associated with it) I get the following error message:

    ERROR: The category you are trying to create already exists.
