Errors after manually deleting media files

    Hi, my customer deleted files manually from ‘uploads’ folder and since then we get errors on media manager and can’t see thumbnails..

    He also upgraded hes system to 3.8 without notifing me but he sais
    the errors started before the upgrade, as i mentioned above.

    how could i solve it please without knowing which files he deleted?
    i’m trying to be extra careful so he won’t lose all hes uploaded images

    i tried disabling plugins, changing themes, fixing folders permissions but i still can’t solve this.. it’s on a windows server.

    could anyone advise please?
