    Hi,

First things First! Thanks for the wonderful plugin!

I am getting the error “Youve reached the bandwidth limit for viewing or downloading files that aren’t in Google docs format. Please try again later. You can also try to download the original document by clicking here”

I am using the GDE twice on the same post with two different PDF docs. With one GDE shortcode i am using the default profile while with the other i am using the secure profile. I get the above error message on either one OR both (there is no particular order) after viewing the site 2-2 times. I am logged out of my google account. So it is not something related with my google account. I tried a different browser and one doc was visible but the other one was not! again random!

I can see in one of the earlier forum it has been a problem with other users as well from last 1 year. Do we have some solution to this? Again it is not related with the status of google account.

    Thanks!

    Kaps,

This is a disagreeable sort of issue because no one fix universally applies. I’ve certainly had people succeed by logging out, and sometimes immediately back in to their Google account, so while you may be experiencing it for other reasons there are times when the two seem related. Certainly the error message itself sounds to be related since how can a truly anonymous user exceed some (as far as I know unspecified) bandwidth limit?

If you’re using the enhanced viewer option, you can try switching to the standard version and see if that results in any improvements. If not, then I’m afraid you’re at the whim of Google on this. The error doesn’t come from GDE but from them. It’s infuriating though that it affects some people so heavily and others (like myself) hardly at all.

are you sure it does not track the website URL or the user’s IP address, because as i mentioned in my other ticket related to hostgator known issue, even the hostgator rep could see this error message.

anyways, even i am not sure if you can do something about it.

thanks again for the plugin! 🙂

Same issue for me, have you found any solution?

I am having the same issue as well. Please help!

Yep same thing happening here too sporadically. A refresh and it seems to work again. Otherwise fantastic plugin thanks author!

Same problem here. Any chance fixing it?

    Same problem here,
the worst is, with the error, the plugin gives a direct link to download the file

    All,

I’ve done my best to explain this issue here. I will update if I get any more information.

Cexilla, note the last point – hiding the download link is not intended to prevent people from finding and downloading your original file. If you don’t want people to do this, then you need to use the max-doc-security profile. Then, even if the error displays, people won’t be able to get the direct link to your document.
