When i try to upgrade to 2.8 automatly it takes like 10 mins, than this shows up:

    Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.8.zip

    Unpacking the core update

    Could not copy file: /public_html/theproweb.co.cc/news/wp-content/upgrade/core/wordpress/wp-comments-post.php

    Installation Failed

what could be the cause of this, and how can i fix it?

Might try the upgrade again. If it fails may need to resort to the manual method (Upgrading WordPress)

I had the same issue on bringing one blog to 2.8.2 and am now having the issue when bringing both from 2.8.2 to 2.8.3. I am only on attempt 2 (which both failed) so if 3 is the magic number, maybe my next attempt will work... ???

    Begin SPAM Updates:

One blog upgraded on the 3rd time to 2.8.3 from 2.8.2. The other blog failed on attempt 3... going for number 4!

The 2nd blog updated on the 7th time without a hitch... I know we call this issue resolved (or so the title implies and the OP marked it as so), but there still seems to be an issue for whatever reason and the problem file, as reported, always seems to be the wp-comments-post.php.

    Ideas? Suggestions?!

    Jeff
