WP-Lister for eBay
[resolved] Error when trying to Verify item - missing "Brand, Style" (4 posts)

    Hello,
I'm receiving the following error when trying to verify an item...

    --------
Error: Listing is missing required item specific(s): "Brand, Style". (#21916519)
Listing is missing required item specific(s): "Brand, Style". Please provide the required item specifics.
    --------

The item remains in the "Prepared" state. I don't see where I can add the "Brand" or "Style" information for the listing....maybe I have somehow missed that.

I have turned on logging. I actually "sent the log to support" a couple days ago using the link in the logs, but I can send it again if needed. The website is http://www.littlecolibri.com.

Also, I'm using the latest version of the plugin (WP-Lister: 1.1.3.4) and WordPress (3.5.1).

    Thanks!
    John

    Hi John,

I did receive the log entry, but I was actually waiting for an additional message via email, contact form or forum. It would be better if WP-Lister would ask you do describe what you did and enter a contact email address when you send that log entry - I'll implement this in the next version.

Regarding the issue you're having I must say that the free version of WP-Lister is quite limited in its support for item specifics - so if you are selling items like clothing where eBay requires you to provide certain item specifics like Brand, Style, Size, etc. you'll find that WP-Lister Pro is actually better suited for the job.

How this would work in WP-Lister Pro is described in detail on this blog post: http://www.wplab.com/list-your-products-with-item-specifics-recommended-by-ebay/

If you want to continue to use the free version though, you'll have to create product attributes in WooCommerce which match exactly the required item specifics - on all your products. If the required item specifics is called "Size (Women's)", you'll have to create an attribute with that exact name in WooCommerce - but with a different name for men's...

Since that's not very convenient, I developed the feature which is described in the blog post mentioned above - and which is only available in WP-Lister Pro as it was a lot of effort to implement.

    kind regards,

    Matt

Ok, thanks for the quick response and explanation with the two options. I will likely buy WP-Lister Pro soon.
