   Tried uploading a movie from an iphone and received an error: error.-601, Message: File extension error., File IMG_0051.MOV

   Images seem to upload fine, but get rotated. So you are looking at a sideways picture.

   Hi,

   .mov is not supported by a lot of browsers. Hence, the player cannot play it. If it can't be played, why upload it. The format supported is .mp4. This is clearly mentioned, everywhere on the plugin.

   As for the images, the image must be originally rotated (this is stored in the exif data). A smart phone can detect this and rotate in reverse, so you never have to care. BuddyPress Media lacks this intelligence. It just uploads an image, as it is!

   Converting a .mov on upload to a widely supported .mp4 is beyond this plugin or WordPress. For that, we've created a premium addon, http://rtcamp.com/store/buddypress-media-ffmpeg-converter/

   Interesting, just uploaded straight from my iphone. So I would have to convert the video during upload for it to work?
