Error when trying to import from wordpress.com

    Hello. 🙂 First, my username might be somewhat deceptive, as I’m not so much new to wordpress, as I have a wordpress.com blog, but I’m new to wordpress.org.

    I’d like to import my wordpress.com blog to my wordpress.org blog. So I exported my wp.com blog to an xml file.

    When I tried to import it to my wp.org blog, I got the following message:

    Sorry, there has been an error.

    The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/a9554068/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/uploads.

    I tried just uploading the file directly into said directory via my web host’s file manager, but that doesn’t seem to be importing, even though the file is now listed in the directory.

    Any ideas?
