  • Same here. Though, it is working with the same theme on a MAMP development copy, so I know it isn’t the theme. I’ve tried disabling plugins that I think would conflict.

This was working with the legacy version of NextGen.

I’m on an NGINX with apache proxy setup with APC on centos. Not sure where to look for errors. What is nngallery using to extract zip files? Could it be the actual extraction isnt working?

I’ve checked permissions/ownership on gallery and subfolders (777/apache), I’ve cleared my cookies/browser cache, I refreshed permalink settings.

Not sure where to go from here. Any ideas other than plugin conflict?

@stevencmansfield – This is working on our test, live, local and remote servers so it is a bit of a mystery why it is not working for you.

There really is not enough details here to make any suggestions at the moment except for common troubleshooting ideas of checking file/folder permissions and checking for conflicts with other plugins.

@dalexisv83 – I would expect your set up to be different than @stevencmansfield and as such it would be much more beneficial for you to start your own topic if for no other reason you are providing additional details that the OP did not note.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I have checked for plug in conflicts and that is not an issue. I am a bit of a novice at this. Which folders and files should I check and how? Files 644 or 640 and directories 755 or 750?

You also mentiond lack of detail – what would you like that will help diagnosis?

Would it be an idea to reinstall and could this be done without losing existing images and galleries?

Any more help on this? Can I reinstall without losing existing images and galleries?

Am having the same problem. I just updated to 2.0.40. Also updated to WP 3.8.1

    ADD GALLERY/IMAGES
select Gallery name from pull down
    click on ADD FILES
browse in my pic files on local disk
    press START UPLOAD
(looks as though the file is uploading)
error returns “Failed to extract images from ZIP”

Tried with single photo, multiple photos. No luck.
My ADD GALLERY/IMAGES choices do not include an option to UPLOAD A ZIP FILE.

    Any help?

Actually I rolled back to a previous version of Nextgen and problem solved. I think it is version 1.9.12 I found out how to do it by looking at http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/how-to-rollback-a-version/

Same problems plus some. I have the latest versions of NextGEN Gallery 2.0.40 and WordPress 3.8.1. This is a high school soccer team website so I only need to use NextGEN gallery from Feb-May each year. Last year it worked wonderfully. Now I get the following issues after updating to 2.0.40.

Can’t Upload images. It acts like it is uploading then when it is finished I get the message box that says, “Upload Complete, 0 images uploaded”.

Can’t add to a page or change to slideshow on last year’s gallery page. I keep getting “No Input File Specified”..

I tried changing themes and didn’t fix anything. I cleared my browser cache and that didn’t fix anything.

Do I have to roll back to a previous version?

@stevencmansfield – We would often suggest a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) be made on issues like these as it will help with details such as hosting, versions, etc.

As to the file permissions, you would be looking at 0755 for folders and 0644 for files for the /gallery/ folder and it sub-folders/files.

    – Cais.

I went ahead and rolled back to 1.9.13 and everything works again. Still I would love to have all of the enhancements of 2.0.40 so if you find a fix then I will upgrade once again.

@socrsite84 – I would recommend you create your own topic as you are stating that your issues are not the exact same as @stevencmansfield.

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

Basically as I said above, I have resolved the problem by rolling back. If I find the time I will do the bug thing.
