  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

I tried resetting the plugins folder but now my site won’t even load. I’m getting a page that says “Error establishing a database connection.”

Have you spoken to your hosts about this? They may be experiencing problems as their end.

Okay. I’ve gotten the site back up and everything’s fine but I still can’t get the login page to load. I tried resetting the plugins folder and switching to the default theme again but it hasn’t worked.

Try checking your site’s error logs for messages. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

I have no error logs. The folder was completely empty.

You might want to check with your hosts about that.
