    Hello, I am trying to create a static about page... I copied the index.php and edited out the blog posts stuff and put what I wanted. I thought it was working ok, but when I uploaded it, I get an error message where the menu should be. I have no idea what the problem could be, I didn't tweak anything on the menu... can anyone help with this?
    normal page: http://www.moltenwords.net
    tweaker about page: http://www.moltenwords.net/about.php
    Thank you :)

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_links_list() in /home/moltenwo/public_html/about.php on line 94
    Part of what you have edited out could have been something that somehow called this function.
    I'm not sure where this actually is, so try putting things back one by one until it works ? Then, the last thing you added must be kept, and you can discard the rest ?

    Hi, thanks for the reply. I don't know what the problem was, but I recopied the index template and inserted my content again. And now it works! I am going to print out the code for the old and new files and see what the diff is, so I can know what I did and learn more about how all this weird stuff works. :)

    oriecat, odds are that you removed the template-functions.php include from the top of your page. Without it, you generally can't use anything WP oriented. At least that's my guess..the line should look something like this:
    include ("wp-includes/template-functions.php");
