  • Hi sarovin, is this causing the plugin not to function? Or is this an error that you simply notice, and want to make us aware?

    I can likely provide a modification that would fix this issue.

    Let me know. Thanks!

    Hi sarovin, I will need to fix your plugin file. I will need access to your site, with admin rights so that I can edit your plugin file.

    You can send that here if that’s okay: http://www.studio88design.com/get-in-touch/

    Thanks, I will get this working for you.

    Hi sarovin, please view your website as of now. This was a plugin issue – the Hide/Show Flags setting ha no value, although the plugin should have activated a default option for it.

    Therefore, the plugin was unable to work.

    Now you are all fixed, and I will be taking a look at this for the next update.

    Thanks so much for your post.

    I think to make a donation you,but first i want to ask you: Is it true that the trasletion of pages made with “google traslete” is penalised by Google?? Thanks. I am waiting for your news. By saro v.

    Hi,

    My personal interpretation of this, and I may be wrong, is that Google does not want anyone to use the Google Translation of content as the only source of a webpage. In other words, if you translate content (yours or anyone’s) and then publish the Google translation word for word, you are in violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. Because you are publishing content created by Google (the translation). I personally don’t think Google Translate (the plugin or service in general) violates this rule as the results, the translations, are transitory, not permamnent.Β

    Hi Sarovin, I apologize for my late response.

    apostlepoe, I agree 100% on this. The translations are not permanent, so there is zero SEO impact with this plugin.

    There would be penalties in the case that you use our plugin to translate web pages, if we indexed those links. But it’s not the indexing that would be a problem, it would be more about the quality of those translations, and how they show up in search engines.

    But again, that is not the case at this time, because our translations are only cached in the browser by Google, but not indexed in the search engines.

    In the future I’m hoping to actually provide permalinks as an option for this plugin, so that those translations can be indexed and boost your SEO rankings. I’ve heard good and bad things about this, so I will be careful before releasing a plugin that does uncontrollable things.

    Thanks so much !

    Hi, I’m also getting this error. It worked fine for a brief moment when I first installed it. Then when I started customizing the settings, I got this message:

    Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in …../google-language-translator.php on line 1765

    At one point, it indicated that it was line 1444.

    Right now, my code reads:
    1444: foreach ($get_flag_choices as $key) {
    1765: foreach ($get_flag_choices as $key) {

    How can I fix this error? Thank you

    Hi,

    If you feel comfortable so doing, could you post a link to your site?

    Regards,

    Hi interioralchemist, I’ve found that in the past, these errors arise when one of the settings does not have a value assigned.

    Can you verify that all settings have at least one value selected, especially the flag and drop down language settings, even if you do not plan to display them.

    Let me know if that fixes things, and if not, I will take a look at your site.

    You can send me a message directly with login details at http://www.studio88design.com/get-in-touch/

    Thanks…..I look forward to helping you.

    Thank you Rob, that fixed it! Have a great weekend!
