    I have tried dropping all the em tables from the mysql database, deleted the cache.
    Trying from scratch it seems to do the same problem.

    Have you tried to temporarily:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems
    – turn-on wp_debug or check your php logs to see if there’s any other error.

    If you can do that and see what errors you get when activating EM, maybe we can shed some light on the issue.

    However, normally it works with BP so chances are it’s another plugin (or even a theme) causing the problem.
