I've been trying to get into my Widgets but this error message keeps coming up and I'd like to know what it means and how I got about fixing it.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare retrieve_widgets() (previously declared in /home/a8875491/public_html/blog/wp-admin/widgets.php:67) in /home/a8875491/public_html/blog/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 1260

viviennecrow, have you just upgraded something?

I hadn't used it in a while so yes I think I did an upgrade of whatever it asked me to upgrade.

viviennecrow, I can't find a simple answer to your issue.
I would start with turning off all your plugins, and seeing if you still have the error.
Then turn them back on one by one.. tedious job, but it may give you an idea as to what is not working.

I've found that my automated upgrade hasn't worked, so now I have to figure out how to do it manually and then see what happens.

of course I keep trying the automated upgrade, but when it tries it comes up with an error message. I'm wondering if it has to do with my webhost? it says I need PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0 mine is showing PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.1
would that cause the errors?
