Error message when trying to download updates and plugins

    Hi!

    I installed WordPress and when I try to make an automatic update or install a plugin, I receive the following error message:

    Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /home/wwwusers/*******/html/www/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 736

    I have tried to re-install WP but this doesn´t help.

    Please give me advice what to do and why I keep getting this error message.

    Try re-uploading the wp-admin folder from a fresh download of WordPress using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
