Error Message when accessing Admin Dashboard

    An existing site that has been running fine for a year or so now shows this error text when I log into the Admin Dashboard:

    WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYI’ (errno: 144)]
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved = ‘0’

    This info is scrolled across the screen above the Dashboard. I cannot access the Comments in the Admin panel, and the site fails to display any comments, also displaying the same error message.

    Any idea on what this error could be caused by? Thanks.
