    I got this error message upon initial installation/activation:

    The plugin generated 188 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

    I did a 2nd install on a local server with a new WP install and didn’t get that error message. Any idea what the conflict could be?

    Thank you.

  • On your initial installation/activation: is that WP 3.0 or higher?
    Do you have latest version of PMP Paid membership Pro downloaded 1.5.8?
    Could be a conflict with another plugin you may have activated, test and see if so by deactivating all your plugins and install PMP and see what happens. If you have success just reactivate the other plugins.

    Thats what I would do if I were troubleshooting this issue. 🙂

    I installed directly from WordPress.org search via wp-admin onto WP 3.5 or WP 3.5.1.

    I’m assuming there’s a plugin conflict.

    Are there any known plugin conflicts to be aware of?

    Thank you.

    Any plugin can throw this type: The plugin generated 188 characters of unexpected output during activation.

    I know it has nothing to do with PMP directly cause I have installed on an old and new wp install and its fine.

    Hi – I’m running 3.5.1 and am in the process of setting up my website. The plugin was working fine and I had no problems. But a couple of days ago I installed your update (1.5.9) from within WP an install error. It won’t activate. Here is the error message I get.

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare pmpro_getmemberstartdate() (previously declared in /home/content/j/e/n/jenandjoan/html/bullyproject/wp-content/plugins/pmpro-series-master/pmpro-series.php:247) in /home/content/j/e/n/jenandjoan/html/bullyproject/wp-content/plugins/paid-memberships-pro/includes/functions.php on line 1409

    The good news is that the site isn’t live yet so no harm no foul. The question I have is – do I need to uninstall and reinstall to fix this. Or are you planning to give us an update to the update so that it will actually install properly? I’d prefer not to delete and reinstall because obviously, I don’t want to have to reset up all the settings I had working. But on the other hand, all progress on the site is stalled until I can get the plugin working again. So your help is appreciated.

    Also – just FYI – I used your site’s form to contact you – no response and I sent an email to the email on your site, no response. So, now I am asking here – hoping for a response. Thanks!

    btw – I am very excited about the program. Does everything I need it to do so far.

    @jenthehumanist Just to let you know Im not affiliate with the development of Jason plugin Paid Membership Pro, I just like helping where I can and mainly with this plugin, Im a user of this plugin and I have a love for wordpress, so I read and help where I can for those using Jasons plugin, I keep up with him on the main dev site. https://github.com/strangerstudios If you register on this site you can follow him and all the updates patches and addon that he comes out with for PMP paid membership pro.

    On the other hand looks like the plugin wants to activate its self but the header from the plugin “pmpro-series-master” which is also jasons plugin is activated calling a header as well.
    =======
    STEP #1. DEACTIVATE pmpro-series-master
    STEP #2. DEACTIVATE PMP then Reactivate PMP
    STEP #3. if the PMP activates find then…
    STEP #4. reactive pmpro-series-master
    =========
    Lets see what happens.

    While the PMP is under development I know Jason depends on us to use this plugin and test it and he will work all the bugs out.

    Hang in there, and he will reply to your email , just give him some time, since this plugins release , recently the downloads have grown I have watched it, so people are probably backing up his email.

    You know you can get in his PRIVATE members only support to thats priority help and extra perk for code help and etc its $97 bucks

    Other than that let me know what happens.

    Thanks! He got back to me shortly after I posted this and gave me the same sequence to fix it – all is wonderful once again!

    Hi Jen,

    Glad to hear this is resolved.

    Thanks again @ladypop2012 for all your help:)

    I’m going to close this thread.
