Hi there
WP was running fine until I suddenly got the error message 'Unknown column 'ID' in 'where clause' and now I cannot log into the site that I'm developing for a client at all!
Can anyone please help or suggest replacing a file that has become corrupted?? I certainly can't afford to scrap the site and start again - too many man hours have gone into it.
Thanks in anticipation :-(
Stuart
Try:
- switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

Those suggestions didn't have any effect on my ability to access WP. Any other suggestions would help. I'm a little concerned that I will never be able to access successfully.
Help?
Thanks for your ongoing concern everyone.

Have you tried repairing your database? Do you have a recent database backup?

Hi
I have just repaired my database, but I don't have a recent backup :-(
Any other ideas??
Stuart
Contact your hosts and see if they have a backup copy of your database. If the db has been badly trashed, you may have to try a restore.

I am resigned to the fact that I may have to rebuild the website. I asked my host if they keep a copy of the backup, and they do, but they wanted $75 for the privilege!
Unless there are any other suggestions I ma have to rebuild??
Thanks for all of your helpful thoughts.

A small admin charge might be reasonable but that seems way too high to me. You might want to look at changing hosts. I would in your shoes!
Unfortunately, without a backup, you're pretty much stuck with trying to rebuild the site manually. :-(
