    Hello,
I have just uploaded my wordpress files to my site, and this is the error I am getting:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 46080 bytes) in /home/www/lisabeach/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 1473

I re-checked my entries in the wp-config.php file and don't see a problem...
    username: lisab
    password...
hostname: would this be the same as my server name? or is it the database server alias? Those are the two terms I got from my host (hostway). I figured it was the mysql.lisabeach.com and not ldb108.siteprotect.com

    Thanks!
    Lisa

    Hi

The PHP settings in your hosting account are not set with enough memory to run WordPress. They seem to be set to 8 megs, you need 32 megs to run WP. Contact hostway & have them either bump your allocation up or tell you how to do it.

For most hosts the hostname in wp-config.php is localhost. While you are contacting Hostway's tech support, ask them that also.
