   I'm brand new to WordPress and still learning. But I've had this problem right from the beginning. I've viewed many forum discussions on this, but everything I've found seems to refer to an older version of WordPress because they mention admin-misc-settings, which isn't an option in 3.3.1.

   No matter how I try to upload an image, I get this error:

   Unable to create directory D:\Hosting\8811390\html/wp-content/uploads/2012/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

   I have set my media settings to store media in wp-contents/uploads.

   I have set the folder permissions to 755.

   I am at a loss. Help!

   Try 775. If that doesnt work, try 777. If neither work, there is something else going on that is beyond a permissions issue.

   Sadly, that didn't work. I guess I have more investigating to do.
