I'm installing WP on my host for the first time and after following the installation instructions about uploading the CONTENTS of the wordpress directory to the root folder (public_html), when I try to access the wp-config.php page I get the following error:
Warning: main(): Unable to access ../../wordpress/wp-config.php in /
www/business/5382/wp-admin/install.php on line 8
Warning: main(../../wordpress/wp-config.php): failed to open stream:
Permission denied in /www/business/5382/wp-admin/install.php on line 8
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../../wordpress/wp-
config.php' (include_path='.:') in /www/business/5382/wp-admin/
install.php on line 8
It looks like WP thinks the wp-config.php file is in a directory called wordpress but as I want WP to be accessible via http://www.creative-i.info I just uploaded the contents rather than the directory as well.
This is what I see when I access the URL:
Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the Creative-i database.
* Are you sure it exists?
* On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?
