• Hi guys. Program looks fantastic
Had a lot of trouble during the install but scoured these forums, did the Spacmoonkey bugfix thing and finally got it sorted.
    …Until….
I was given a login and password and it doesn’t work. Copy and paste or manual type doesn’t do the trick, but I definitely know it’s not a typo
    *groan*
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • If you have phpMyAdmin on your host; you could try following Podz’s tutorial on changing the password:

I’m having the same problem as sean. People register and when they click “login” right after they register it says “Error: Incorrect password.”

Same problem, what is it with this 5 min install fantasy?

are you using 1.2 or 1.21?

I believe it is a bug in case sensitivity. On my 1.2.1 installation, if you attempt to log in with a correct login, but incorrectly capitalized, you’ll get a “wrong password” error. I think this is because MySQL and PHP use a different equality for strings, and so the check in line 45 of wp-login.php fails incorrectly in that instance. I haven’t verified this, though – so I suppose the takehome message is just: check your capitalization.

Yes, both the password and username are case-sensitive.
