Error: File Type is Not Permitted for Security Reasons

    “Directory.xml” has failed to upload due to an error
    Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

    This is the error I’m getting. I’m trying to upload an MS Excel that is only 40 KB in size. The file is not protected, so I have no clue why this is happening.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Hi Skate-O,

    That error isn’t coming from GDE. However XML is not a supported file type of Google Viewer and therefore not of GDE either, assuming you’re talking about an Excel XML file. You’ll first need to save your document in native Excel format (XLS, XLSX).

    Silly me!!! I got the file converted and it’s uploaded properly!
