• Hi
I have read most of the posts in the forum and still cannot get it to work.
    Here is my configuration:
Fedora Core 3 with all patches as of today (25.11.2004).
    MySQL: 3.23.58
    Apache: 2.0.52
    PHP: 4.3.9
I created the necessary user (wordpress) and the database (wordpress). The user has a password.
MySQL is running => I can logon.
Apache is running => I saw the appache welcome screen.
PHP is running => I created the testphp.php file
Wordpress is giving me the above error.
What I have tried is to create a new user and create a new database.
I am trying to install WordPress on my local machine. I do not have the domain setup (as I am just testing) so I access the site using http://localhost/xxxxxxx. I have also tried using the 127.0.0.1 and the “real” ip: 192.168.10.104.
Is there any way that I can find out where the error is?
Thanking you in advance for any help given.
    Ursus

  • Whenever I’ve seen this error reported before, it’s turned out that some module is needed to be installed for php and mysql to talk to each other.

    Hi
thank you for the quick answer ;o)
I tried to install all the pachages using Fedora Core but there is some dependancy or other problem so that I cannot just install everything :o(
You have any idea how I can find out which module is needed?
    Thanking you in advance
